The reigning Anglo Welsh Cup holders Saracens host the first semi-final of this season's tournament on Saturday at Allianz Park, when they will welcome the Leicester Tigers to their home venue. Saracens claimed the top seeding for the knockout phase, after topping Pool 1, with three wins and a solitary defeat in their four qualifying matches. The five bonus points that collected seeing them finish with 17 points, the most of the four clubs heading their pools.
Saracens actually lost their opening game of this season's tournament at Gloucester 32-36. However, they recovered from that result to beat the Newcastle Falcons at home, before travelling to Wales and defeating the Scarlets. Their final pool fixture, saw them defeat Saturday's opponents by 29-20, and not only secure a semi-final spot, but also the No.1 seeding. The Tigers had secured their place in the last four even before the loss to Saracens, thanks to three straight wins to start the campaign. Although outscored in tries by Bath, they squeezed a 21-20 win at the Rec, and followed up by thrashing the Dragons at Welford Road. A third win, against the Saints secured top spot in Pool 4, before the reverse against Sarries.

The Anglo Welsh Cup holders Saracens host Leicester Tigers at Allianz Park on Sunday in Round 4 of the qualifying phase of this season's tournament. Following the Northampton Saints comfortable bonus point victory over the Scarlets from Wales on Friday Evening at Franklin's Gardens, Saracens go into the clash with the Tigers needing three points to secure their place in the semi-finals. Saracens have won two of their three pool fixtures to date, and with four bonus points to their credit, know that victory over Leicester will not only put them through to the last four, but will also secure them a home match in the semi-final.
The Leicester Tigers are already assured of their place in the last four as they top Pool 4, but will be seeking the victory on Sunday that will give them a chance of securing a home match in the knockout stage. Following Harlequins home defeat to the Sale Sharks on Friday Evening, the Tigers are the only side left in the competition with an unbeaten record. A narrow 21-20 win at the Rec against Bath, was followed up by the crushing at Welford Road of the Newport Gwent Dragons, and most importantly last weekend they made it three from three, with a 27-20 success against their greatest rivals, the Northampton Saints.

On Friday, November 9th, the Anglo Welsh Cup will play with a match between the Saracens and the Leicester Tigers that starts at 19:45 local time. The Leicester Tigers are third on the second pool right now, but their spot is very temporary as the Anglo Welsh Cup hasn't actually played any games. That means that none of these teams have points, and their placement is rather arbitrary. The Worcester Warriors join the Tigers on the second pool list, as well as the Sale Sharks. The last team in that pool is the Cardiff Blues.
As for the Saracens, they are located in the third pool, and the Saracens have the second spot right now. The Scarlets are the top team on the table. Finally, the last two teams are in third and fourth, the London Wasps and the London Irish.
