Harlequins have two chances of securing a place in next season's Champions Cup. Harlequins will participate in Europe's premier club competition if they either win the Challenge Cup, and they are already through to the final, where they will meet Montpellier in the final, or they can finish in the top six of the Aviva Premiership. On Saturday, they will host the Exeter Chiefs at the Stoop in the Premiership, knowing that just a single point will ensure them of a top six finish in the table. The London side are in decent for going into a crunch fortnight in their season, having lost just once in the last five games that they have played in all tournaments.

The Exeter Chiefs also have plenty to play for at the weekend, as they strive to finish in the top two of the Premiership table, and claim a home semi-final in the play-offs as a reward. A win at the Stoop would confirm that they finish above Wasps, who entertain relegated London Irish at the Ricoh Arena. However, the Devon based club haven't won away from home in the Premiership since Round 13, when they beat London Irish at the Madejski Stadium in Reading.

Exeter Chiefs who visit the Stoop on Saturday to take on Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership, finally brought a losing streak that had run to four games, to an end last weekend, with their comprehensive defeat of the Newcastle Falcons by 46-17 at Sandy Park. Despite that bonus point victory the Devonians remain in fifth place in the table, just outside the play-off places, as the sides immediately above them, Wasps and Saracens both recorded wins last weekend as well. However, the Exeter Chiefs have not proven the best of travellers this season in the Premiership, and have not won away from home, since they defeated the reigning Champions the Northampton Saints at Franklin's Gardens on November 14th. At least their only ever victory at the Stoop in four attempts, came in the most recent match at the venue, in march 2013.

Quins were thumped in Coventry last weekend by Wasps, who romped home 37-6, a result that saw Harlequins slip down to eighth place in the table, seven points off of the play-offs, and they may now need to set their sights slightly lower, and aim for the top six, and an automatic place in the Champions Cup next season.

Just four years ago, it would have been unthinkable that the Exeter Chiefs would have been a Premiership side, yet alone a club that was playing in the Heineken Cup regularly, and could be challenging for a play-off spot at the top of the Aviva Premiership table. But Saturday will see the Chiefs run out at Twickenham, in the latest version of the "Big One" to take on Harlequins in from of over 70,000 fans, knowing that a win will see them leap frog over their hosts, and into fourth position. After last week's disappointing defeat at the Rec to Bath, the city slickers from Harlequins will be hoping to get their season back on track with a home win that will allow them to open up a little bit of daylight between themselves and the chasing pack, for the all important play-off positions.

There is little to choose between the teams on current Aviva form. The last two matches that the clubs played were both against Bath Rugby at the Rec, where both went down to defeat, while they have both beaten Newcastle Falcons. All be it, Harlequins traveled to the North East and inflicted a heavy defeat on their hosts, while the Chiefs won easily enough at Sandy Park, and denied the Falcons a try.

Saturday, the 2nd of March, the Aviva Premiership will see the Harlequins and the Exeter Chiefs play at the Stoop at 15:15 local time and GMT. The Harlequins are the number one ranked team in the Aviva Premiership right now. They have played sixteen games so far this season, and have been able to win 12 of those games. Without any draws, their total losses are four. They have been able to take home 55 points as well, but the Saracens in second have a good chance of catching up since they have just one point less.

As for the Exeter Chiefs, they currently take the eighth spot on the table. They have earned 37 points and are pretty secure in their position, because the Worcester Warriors are below them and are a full ten points down.
