Saracens have now played and won all five matches in the Premiership, allowing them to open a three point gap at the top of the table, above the Exeter Chiefs. The Falcons who have made a poor start to the Premiership season, and are in eleventh position in the table, managed to avoid defeat for the first time last weekend, when they secured a 15-15 draw at the AJ Bell Stadium against the Sale Sharks. In terms of actual victories however, the Newcastle Falcons only success in the last 14 fixtures in the tournament, came at home against the visiting Harlequins by 37-21 in Mid-May.

The Saracens have won all of the last dozen meetings between the two clubs. Newcastle's last taste of success coming in the Premiership back in 2009. The last five fixtures between the sides at Kingston Park have all resulted in Saracens wins, but have all been close enough for the home side to have picked up a losing bonus point each time.

Newcastle Falcons experienced probably their most disappointing result of the Premiership season last weekend, when they slipped to a 7-15 defeat at the Stoop to Harlequins. The Falcons made 11 line breaks during the course of the game, and yet managed just one try, and five penalty goals for the Quins, ensured that the Newcastle Falcons made the long trip back to the North East without even a losing bonus points.

As a result, the Falcons who entertain Saracens at Kingston Park on Saturday, remain in a lowly tenth place in the Premiership table, although they do have the buffer of a 13 point gap between themselves and the bottom club, London Welsh. Saturday's visitors Saracens, who lost last year's Grand Final in a dramatic and controversial conclusion to the Northampton Saints, have won the last nine fixtures against the Falcons. A run which goes back five years to 2009.

Saracens are in fourth position, much due to their indifferent away form, which has seen them fail to register an away win in the Aviva Premiership since Round 3 of this season's tournament. With the six nations tournament starting in early February, which will make huge demands on the Sarries, they will be keen to ensure that they secure as many points as possible, while they have a full squad to select from, as they seek to go one better than last year, and win back the coveted Premiership Trophy.

There will be little expectation in the North East of England, that the Newcastle Falcons can bring an end to their thirteen game Aviva Premiership losing streak, when they welcome the table topping Saracens to Kingston Park on Sunday. The current run is the worse in the club's history in the tournament, and they are grateful that Worcester Warriors have been so dismal this season, that it has kept the Falcons out of a real dog fight against relegation, that a record of three wins from nineteen matches, would normally have brought them. Saracens are already assured of their fifth consecutive appearance in the post season play-offs, and will look for a victory over the Falcons that will ensure that they have a home semi in this season's tournament at the Allianz Park.

The last time that the Falcons registered a success against the Saracens was in February 2009, when they beat them by 13-9 at home. Since then, all nine games between the two clubs have resulted in Saracens wins. Falcons last tasted success at home back in round six when they beat London Irish by 13-11, since when they have played six games on their own soil, and lost the lot of them.

In the Aviva Premiership this week, the Newcastle Falcons and the Saracens play in Newcastle and 19:45 local time or an hour earlier GMT. In the Aviva Premiership table, the Newcastle Falcons come in at dead last with just five wins from the twenty games that they have played. They also took two draws, and that gives them twenty seven points. Then, we take a look at the Saracens in third place. They have fourteen wins of the twenty played, and then have on draw on top of that, with only five losses. They get 64 points for that.
