With four try-scoring bonus point victories to their credit so far in the 2015 Currie Cup, and a perfect start to the campaign, the Blue Bulls will go into Fridays home match against the Cheetahs, as clear favourites to maintain that 100% winning start.
They will however, be coming up against a side that is improving with every fixture played, and who now occupy fourth position on the ladder, after losing their opening two games, including a 19-57 drubbing at home to the Bulls in Round 1. The Bulls took the honours in Kimberley last weekend, beating the Griquas by 46-32, but lost top spot to the Golden Lions, whose points difference is now five [points better than the Bulls.
Recent improvements in both results and performance, may allow the Free State Cheetahs to travel to the Bulls with more hope than might have mustered a couple of weeks ago, especially given their win against the reigning Champions last week, when they Westren Province were taken down by 28-21 in Bloem. Whatever the outcome, and it would be a surprise if the Bulls don't claim the four points for the win, the Bulls appear destined for a home semi-final, while the Cheetahs will be in the mix for the play-offs.
