Toulon                          Cardiff Blues
Saturday 11th January 15:40 GMT

The last time that Toulon "hosted" the Cardiff Blues away from their Stade Mayol home, the Blues produced one of their finest ever European results. That game was played in Marseilles in 2010, and saw the Welsh region win the Challenge Cup with a stunning 28-21 success.

So having already lost to the Blues in this season's tournament, at the Arms Park, will the reigning Heineken Cup holders come to regret moving the match to Allianz Riviera in Nice, with its greater spectator capacity.

Toulon have never lost a Heineken Cup game at home, but they know that they will need to be at their best for the crunch game against the Blues, who have recovered from a six try mauling at the hands of the Exeter Chiefs in their first Pool match, to be the only realistic challengers to the French club, for a quarter final spot.

Unfortunately, the Blues will go into the game without their talented outside half, Rhys Patchell, who was injured in their last match, a PRO12 contest with the Dragons, and the player will be out for four months, with a knee injury. However, they will have their Welsh international loose head prop, Gethin Jenkins, back in the side, after a month on the sidelines.

Jenkins was a key figure in the Toulon side last season, as they conquered Europe for the first time, and his knowledge of the French club could prove invaluable.

While Toulon haven't lost a home Heineken Cup match, their recent form in the Top 14 competition, will give the Blues a massive boost, the Frenchmen having lost their last two games, 14-9 in Paris against Racing Metro 92 and a shock home defeat to Grenoble last weekend by 22-21.

Saturday, the 12th of January, the Heineken Cup will see Toulon and the Cardiff Blues play in Toulon at 14:35 local time and 13:35 GMT. Toulon has done what very few other teams have been able to do this season for the Heineken Cup, and that is win all of the games that they have played so far this season. They have four wins out of the four games that they have played, and that puts them at the very top of the sixth pool right now. They have earned eighteen points for their wins. In second place is Montpellier, who has earned 13 points and won three games.

As for the Cardiff Blues, they come in at fourth place right now. They haven't been able to win any games so far this season, and they have only earned one points. The Sale Sharks are above them with one win and four points.
