Ireland open their 2015 campaign in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship on Tuesday with a match against the U20's from Argentina Under 20s at the Stadio XXV Aprile in Parma. Neither of the two sides has ever finished better than fourth in the previous seven editions of the Championships. Ireland finishing fourth in 2014, when they were beaten for the Bronze medal by the host nation, New Zealand, by 23-45.

Argentina also managed a fourth place finish, which came in the 2012 competition held in South Africa, where Wales beat them 25-17, to take third spot. The Irish who had performed so strongly at last year's World Cup, had a disappointing 6-Nations tournament, where they finished in fifth place. However, they did show glimpses, particularly in their win over France, of the talent they have. If they are to have a chance of making the semi-finals once more, they will need to open with a win on Tuesday, with New Zealand also in the pool.

Scotland who also make up Pool C, finished above Ireland Under 20s in the 6-Nations, and full of confidence, will be no pushovers, and provide the Irish with their second opponent on Saturday in Calvisano.
