History is, therefore, very much on the side of the Baby Blacks. New Zealand Under 20s were beaten on their last appearance in the final, however, in 2012 when they were beaten by South Africa. England are the only side to win the title, having progressed to the semi-finals as the best Pool runner-up. which they did in 2013 in France. They will need to repeat that effort on Saturday, if they are to make it three straight tournament wins.

Although the New Zealand youngsters have matched to the final with four straight wins, probably the most impressive performance of the tournament came in the semi-finals, when England came up against the favourites South Africa. The England forwards were magnificent, and the Junior Boks were well beaten long before the end of the contest, with England's forwards even winning South African scrums, such was their dominance.
