South Africas hopes of overcoming the disappointment of losing last years Under 20s Rugby World Cups final by 20-21 to England, by taking the 2015 title in Italy, are still very much alive, as South Africa Under 20s go into Monday's semi-finals as the top seeds. The 2012 Champions, will face their nemesis England, who have taken the title in each of the last two seasons, in the last four, after the Red Rose sneaked through as the best runner-up from the three pools.

Going into the final round of qualifying matches, both the Junior Boks and the English youngsters had 10 points each, the same as the Baby Blacks and Australia. The defending Champions left themselves on the brink of elimination, when they slipped to defeat against France, gifting the French two tries, and failing to secure a bonus point. However, thanks to the Junior Boks thumping win against Australia, which secured top seeding on points difference over New Zealand, England were left with a better points difference than the Australians, and thereby finished as the best runner-up, and claimed the fourth seed spot.

The Junior Boks looked extremely efficient in disposing of hosts Italy and Samoa, but they took their performance to another level in beating Australia 46-13, and England Under 20s will need to cut out the self inflicted problems that saw them lose to France, if they are to have a chance of a third consecutive final appearance.

The only downside for the Baby Bocks was the poor form of kickers Handre Pollard and Rob Du Preez. Pollard only managed to convert two of his seven kicks, while Du Preez netted six from ten. If all the kicks had been on target, the Bocks would have easily crossed 100 points. England opened their campaign with a convincing 30-6 win over France. Captain Jack Clifford scored two tries with Chiefs front rower Luke Cowan-Dickie scoring the other. England will be looking to avenge last year’s loss to the Baby Bocks- they went down 28-15 in the group stage to go out of medal contention. Will the Baby Bocks again get the better of England?
