It is quite amazing that one of the most intense rivalries in international rugby is between two sides who have met 29 times over a 109 year period, but which has been dominated so thoroughly by one side. Wales will meet the New Zealand All Blacks at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, seeking just their fourth win ever over the tourists, and current World Champions, and their first victory over the men in black since 1953.

If the Welsh are to bring that losing streak to an end, just a year out from the World Cup, then Saturday could offer as good an opportunity as any. Although Wales themselves come into the game having lost to Australia two weeks ago, despite outscoring them by 4 tries to 3, and then winning a narrow victory against Fiji, their opponents are performing at a lower standard than we have come to expect, and certainly appear just ever so slightly vulnerable.

Completely out played for the first 40 minutes at Twickenham, the All Blacks could have found themselves trailing last week with 10 minutes remaining against Scotland, if Laidlaw had knocked over a relatively easy penalty opportunity, which would have changed the impetus of that match, which the Kiwis went on to win 24-16, considerably.

On the New Zealand Tour, Wales and New Zealand will play at Millennium Stadium at 17:15 local time and GMT on Saturday, November 24thWales hasn't had a great end of year campaign so far, and now they have to go up against one of the big name teams out there on Saturday. Wales was beat by Argentina and then in a surprise move to everyone, by Samoa, which means that their ranking and their reputation has gone down quite a few notches. This week Warren Gatland returned to the team, so maybe that will make a difference.

New Zealand has taken all of their games and they are playing like the champions they are, with nineteen games in a row unbeaten so far, which gives them the Rugby World Cup win and the Rugby Championship title.
