The Liberty Stadium in Swansea is set to host a blockbusting RaboDirect PRO12 fixture on Saturday, when the Ospreys who are second in the table welcome top of the table Munster, in Round 15 of the regular season. The Irish Province have won a game more than their Welsh hosts, but the Ospreys ability to pick up bonus points, means that there is just a solitary point between them. Saturday's two protagonists, along with Leinster, look set to contest the top two positions in the table, with the reward of a home semi-final in the play-offs, that goes with such an elevated finishing position.

Munster arrive in Swansea unbeaten in the Pro12 tournament since last October, and having won their last seven fixtures in all competitions. When the two sides faced each other in Cork in early November, the Irishmen ran out comfortable 33-0 victors. Last season, Munster completed a season's double over the Welsh Region, including a 20-18 success at the Liberty Stadium in early September. Overall However, the Ospreys hold the upper hand in meetings with the Irishmen, winning 15 times and drawing once in the 30 Guinness Pro12 fixtures that the sides have played against each other. Ospreys are boosted by the return of seven members of the Wales international squad, who have been released for the weekend. They will also welcome back their top scorer, Keelan Giles who has scored 11 tries in nine appearances in all competitions, having overcome a hamstring injury.

The Welsh Region, the Ospreys, will be defending a run of 14 unbeaten games in the Guinness PRO12 at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea, when they welcome Munster to the venue on Sunday afternoon. The last time they were beaten at the Liberty, was back in 2014, when by coincidence, Munster were the visitors. If the Munstermen repeat that success, they will be inflicting a third successive defeat on the Ospreys, who were beaten at Munster in last season's semi-final play-off, and again in last weekend's opener by Ulster in Belfast. The Welsh outfit have not suffered that ignominy since the beginning of the 2012/13 campaign.

During the regular season clashes in 2014/15, the Ospreys came out on top on both occasions. However, Munster secured the victory when it really mattered, in the play-offs. The Irish side were then beaten in Belfast in the final by the Glasgow Warriors, the only game that they have lost from their last eight RaboDirect PRO12 fixtures. Munster opened their season with a narrow home win by 18-13 against the Italians of Treviso in Cork. But the liberty Stadium has not been the happiest of grounds for them, where they have won just three times, while losing on their other nine visits.

The biggest match of Round 17 of the RaboDirect PRO12 tournament, takes place at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea on Saturday, between the Ospreys and table topping Munster from Ireland. Ospreys who have slipped outside the top four, and are two points behind reigning Champions Leinster, who currently occupy the final post-season play-off position. They will take on the Irish Province, defending an unbeaten record at the Liberty that stretches back to February last year, ironically when Munster were the visitors.

Last weekend’s 22-10 win in Cork against Glasgow Warriors, saw Munster leap back to the top of the table for the first time since Round 9, replacing their opponents on the day, in the chase for a home semi-final. The Irishmen were last beaten in the PRO12 on New Year’s day, when they lost to fellow countrymen Connacht by 16-24, since when they have won four successive matches in the PRO12. When the team met at Thomond Park earlier in the season, the Ospreys won by 19-14, and a win at the Liberty on Saturday would be their first season double over the Munstermen since the 2001/12 season. Although the Irish Province have lost just once on their last seven trips to Wales, they don’t have a great record at the Liberty, with three wins and eight defeats on their visits to the venue.

Ospreys will be hoping that their form at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea will see them to a vital win on Sunday, when they face the mighty men of Munster in the latest round of the RaboDirect PRO12 tournament. Ospreys who are currently third in the bale following last week's demolition at the Liberty of the Italians from Treviso, who were thrashed by 75-7, a record win for the home side since their formation in 2003, have only been defeated twice at home since September 2012, although both losses came in the current season. Ulster and Glasgow having lowered their colors in rounds 5 and 9 respectively. By co-incidence the two sides to have beaten the Welsh side, are the teams that are challenging them for the third and fourth play-off spots in the table.

Not only will the Swansea Ospreys have to overcome the table toppers, Munster, on Sunday, if they want to consolidate their place in the top four, but they will have to bulk a record against Irish provinces, that has seen them win just once in the last nine attempts. A 43-26 success in Galway against Connacht last September. Munster have been at or near the top of the table all season, and last weekend they cemented their position at the peak of the standings, with a comfortable 36-8 win against bottom club Zebre from Italy. They have won all six fixtures that they have played against Welsh regions this season, although they have to go back to April 2011 to find their last win at the Liberty Stadium, having lost three consecutive games there, since that 22-20 victory.

Ospreys will take on Munster in the RaboDirect PRO12 match of Saturday at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. The Swansea Ospreys v Munster match will begin at 18:30 hours local time (also 18:30 hours GMT). As things stand, Ospreys are at the top of the table, having won seven of their nine games. They have 30 points which is the same as Leinster, who are placed second in the group. Of course, Leinster would have played a game before Ospreys play this one and chances are that they would have overtaken the home team.

Ospreys have a tougher opponent too. Munster are only two points behind both, Ospreys and Leinster and a win for them could push them to the top spot as well – something that will make this match an everything-to-play-for affair. Interestingly, after winning six games in a row, the Ospreys have had a struggle in the recent past. They made heavy weather of beating Connacht after they had drawn with Scarlets and lost their seventh match to Glasgow. Munster also go in with a win but they had gone down in the game before that, to Leinster and it will be interesting to see how they go in this potentially exciting encounter.
