Argentina and South Africa meet in their return Rugby Championship fixture on Saturday 27th August at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena in Salta. The Springboks needed to stage a late comeback to claim a 30-23 victory in Nelspruit last weekend. Los Pumas led by 10 points with just 10 minutes remaining, and looked set to repeat their 2015 win in Durban, but conceded a penalty and converted tries by Johan Goosen and Warren Whiteley. The Springboks have yet to taste defeat on Argentinia soil, having won 10 and drawn one of the 11 fixtures played since 1993, including a thrilling 33-31 Rugby Championship win at Saturday's venue in Salta back in 2014.
It has been an uncomfortable start for the new South African coach, Allister Coetzee. Starting with a home defeat against the 14 men of Ireland, they hit back to take the series 2-1 with successive narrow wins. Before beginning the quest for a first title since the Springboks won the Tri-Nations tournament back in 2009. With the All Blacks in imperious form against the Wallabies in Sydney, the Springboks know that there is little room for error if they are to mount a serious challenge to the kiwis in 2016.

Argentina host the Springboks at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena Salta in their return Rugby Championship match after last weeks narrow 13-6 success for the African nation. The Argentina coach Daniel Hourcade has made two changes to the Pumas starting line up, bringing in Juan Martin Hernandez at centre, after he had withdrawn late in the day from the game in Pretoria last weekend. Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino is promoted from the bench and replaces Horacio Agulla on the right wing. The pack that performed so admirably in the scrums and the line outs is kept in tact, with prop Marcos Ayerza set to make his 50th Test appearance. The Pumas entered the Rugby Championship in 2012, and still await their first win after 13 attempts. The nearest that they have come to breaking that duck came two years ago, when they drew 16-all against South Africa in Argentina, which is also the closest that they have come to beating the Springboks in a full international.
South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer makes three changes to his side. Juan Smith completes a remarkable return to international rugby when he starts on Saturday, and is one of three changes to the starting XV, along with prop Gurthro Steenkamp and lock Eben Etzebeth while there are four changes to the bench.

After suffering a mauling in Soweto last week, Argentina will have to make improvements quickly when they host the Springboks this weekend in Mendoza. See Argentina v South Africa live on your computer by joining watchliverugby.tv today, Argentina was annihilated by the Springboks at Soccer City last weekend, losing 73-13. The absence of Toulon flanker Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe hurt the Pumas, and they were further disadvantaged when Patricio Albacete went off injured early in the game. Two yellow cards, one of which lead to a penalty try, didn’t help their cause, as the South Africans dominated the game and scored nine tries.
All of Argentina’s 13 points came from the boot of veteran centre Felipe Contepomi, who landed two penalties, scored a late consolation try and converted it himself. The win was South Africa’s biggest over Argentina and was also the biggest margin of victory in the history of the Tri Nations and the Rugby Championship. Coach Heyneke Meyer has asked his charges to stay grounded. He will have to do without the services of veteran scrum half Fourie Du Preez, who did a sterling job as Ruan Pienaar’s replacement in Soweto, and would have been a shoo-in to start if he had been eligible for the overseas legs. On Saturday, the 25th of August, the Rugby Championship continues when Mendoza is the venue for Argentina and South Africa facing off, with start time at 16:10 local time and 19:10 GMT. The Argentina Pumas recently played the Springboks in this tournament and they ended up losing that match, with a final score of 27 to 6. It was an easy tournament for the Spingbocks, and Bryan Habana making tries as well as Marcell Coetze and Zane Kirchener. It was due to these players that they were able to put it over the li
The Springboks were looking for the bonus point from four tries. Argentina was not able to pull it off like they wanted and one of the reasons was a poor kick from Martin Hernandez. The Pumas have the home field advantage this time.
