Italy and England U20s will both be looking to open their accounts in the 2016 U20 Six Nations, when Italy Under 20s clash at the Stadio Mario e Romolo Pacifici on Friday. There was no great surprise in the outcome of the Italian youngsters trip to France last weekend for their opening fixture of the tournament. The French side winning comfortably enough by 40-3.
However, after Les Bleuets had crossed their line four times in the first half, at the end of which they found themselves trailing by 3-26, the Italy team tightened up their defence in the second period. The scrum became more aggressive and competitive after the break, and the French were made to work much harder. The Italians however, lacked a touch of composure when they were presented with any sort of opportunity, and if they fail to find that clinical edge on Friday, they could find themselves falling to another heavy defeat.
The reigning Champions, England U20s, found themselves beaten for the first time ever by Scotland's U20s in the opening round. The first time that Scotland have beaten the English in 12 attempts. England may find some solace in the fact that they lost their opening game in 2015, away to Wales, before winning their next four fixtures, and claiming a fifth 6-Nations title.

England's thumping 60 point victory over Wales in their last fixture, when they were skippered on the evening by Maro Itoje, has secured England U20s at least a chance of retaining their Six Nations title. In order for England to win the title again, they will need to defeat Italy at the Centro Sportivo San Michele on Friday, and hope that Ireland will defeat France at Maurice Trelut, which will allow the Red Rose nation to pinch the title from under the French noses on point’s difference.
England produced their performance, if not the performance, of this season's U20 6-nations championship, as they ran in 10 tries against the Welsh, who had lost the title the previous season, only on the last day, on points difference to England, and had then been runners up in the World Championship in the summer, again to England.
The Saracens second row Itoje contributed a try, as did flanker Gus Jones, who scored four, hooker Harry Thacker (2), Zach Kibirige, Alex Lundberg and scrum-half Henry Taylor, who was standing in for the injured captain Callum Braley, who pulled out after failing a late fitness test. France will remain favorites to clinch the title with a Grand Slam winning success against the Irish.

On Friday, December 10th, the Under 20 Six Nations Championship will see Italy Under 20s take on England U20s in Rovigo. The match is scheduled to begin at 19:00 local time and 18:00 GMT. England is the top team right now in the Under 20's, but this is very temporary as two of the teams haven't even played yet. England and Ireland have both played a game, and won thiers, so they get the top two spots with two points each. Scotland and Wales both lost their first game so they get the bottom spots with 0 points.
