Scotland and France bring Round 4 of the 6-Nations tournament to a conclusion on Sunday at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. The Scotland entered the tournament with high hopes of a first 6-Nations title, after their strong showing in the World Cup last Autumn. However, those lofty ambitions were blown out of the water in Round 1, when they were more soundly beaten at home by England than the 9-15 scoreline suggest. They have improved over the course of the last two outings, however. Pushing Wales hard in Cardiff, before going down by 23-27. Then bringing an end to a nine game losing streak in the 6-Nations, with a 36-20 success in Rome against the winless Italians.

France are still very much in the title hunt, although they will need to win in Edinburgh and then defeat England in Paris in the final fixture of the 2016 tournament, to have any chance of claiming a first Six Nations title since 2010, when they also claimed the Grand Slam. In truth, however, France have not looked particularly impressive during 2016. They squeezed through in Paris against Italy 23-21 and Ireland by 10-9, before being completed outplayed by Wales in Cardiff. The only surprise being that the try count was 1-1 and the scoreline as close as 10-19. All of the last nine meetings between the Scots and the French, have ended in victory for France.

Having dropped from top spot to fourth in the Six Nations table following their disastrous performance at The Millennium Stadium against Wales, France will want to get their campaign back on track when they face Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday. However, it has emerged that they will have to go into the contest without their two first choice hookers. Already without Clermont Auvergne's Benjamin Kayser, who picked up a knee injury last month, that will sideline him for a minimum of 6 weeks, Les Bleus have now lost Dimitri Szarzewski who has suffered an ankle injury picked up while playing for his club side, Racing Metro. Szarzewski's place in the squad goes to the 27 year old Guilhem Guirado from Perpignan, who has 18 caps to his name, the last of which came against New Zealand in June on the summer tour.

French preparations had already been thrown into confusion, when Morgan Parra, who had been recalled by Coach Philippe Saint Andre and was expected to play a leading role in the side, was suspended by the League De National Rugby for two matches, having been sent off while playing for his club side. The 7 times capped Castres wing Marc Andreu replaces Parra in the squad.

Sunday, February 26th, the Six Nations Competition sees Scotland and France play at Murrayfield at 15:00 local time and GMT. Scotland is fifth on the Six Nations. They have zero points right now because they have played two games so far and have not been able to win either of them. That is the same story for both Ireland and Italy in fourth and sixth place right now. As for France, they come in at third because they have earned two points from winning one of the two games that they have played. Wales and England are in the top two spots with four each.
