No one but the staunchest of Force supporters would have predicted before the season started that the Perth based franchise would have been bidding for a place in the end of season play-offs, with just a handful of matches in the regular season left to play.

But that is exactly what the situation is, as the Force wait to welcome the Johannesburg based Lions on Saturday. The Force are currently in seventh position on the overall table, just one point outside a wildcard play-off place.

The Australian side will expect to apply more pressure on the teams above them with a comprehensive victory over the hapless Lions. The South African side have won just four games this season, with only one of those being away from home, while losing eight times, and are bottom one in the table.

The Force have made just two changes to the XV that defeated the Stormers last week. Winger Dane Haylett-Petty replaces Marcel Brache who injured an ankle last weekend, while lock Wilhelm Steenkamp replaces Adam Coleman who drops to the bench.

Lions coach Johan Ackermann makes six changes to the forwards for the final match of their Australasian tour. Including changing the entire front row; Corne Fourie, Armand van der Merwe and Ruan Dreyer all selected for the run on XV.
