The Reds last beat the Crusaders, when they famously won the Super Rugby Final in 2011. The two clashes since have both gone the way of the Kiwi team.

In total, the sides that meet in Lang Park, Brisbane on Sunday, have met 20 times in Super Rugby since 1996, with the Crusaders having emerged successful on 14 of those occasions. The Reds have fared much better when the matches have been on their own soil, with five of their six wins coming in Brisbane, including the 2011 final.

Current form however, would suggest nothing other than a win for the visitors this coming weekend. The Reds are currently on a losing streak that has to date reached four successive matches, while the Crusaders by contrast have won four successive matches.

The Queensland Reds who are bottom of the Australian Conference were beaten by the Blues last weekend, and have made six changes to the side for the game against the Crusaders. Curtis Browning comes into the starting XV to make his starting debut.

The Crusaders have made five changes themselves to the side that last weekend beat the Brumbies. Kieran Read is still unavailable, but Richie McCaw will start in place of Matt Todd who is out of contention with a calf strain.
