Sharks                          Stormers
Saturday 13th June 17:10 GMT

The final match of the 2015 Super Rugby regular season, takes place on Saturday at Kings Park in Durban, when they play-off bound Stormers, visit the Natal Sharks. The Sharks will finish a disappointing fourth in the South African Conference, irrespective of the result on Saturday, having won just six of their 15 matches this season. Their poorly finishing position due in no short measure to a run of six straight losses between Rounds 8-14.

They have won just two derby matches this season, but have won their two most recent fixtures, against the Reds 21-14 in Brisbane, and against the Rebels 25-21 at home. Last weekend saw them have a bye. The Stormers secured the Conference title last weekend with a 19-19 draw at Newlands against the Lions. However, a failure to secure a win against the Lions, means that they now require a most unlikely sequence of results, if they are to get a week off, and advance direct to the semi-finals.

The Stormers may well accept that they are not going to finish above the Australian Conference winners, whether that is the Brumbies or the Waratahs, and rest key players, ready for the challenge of the play-offs the following weekend. They will, however, have the advantage of playing in Cape Town in their first play-off match, it is just the opposition that is yet to be determined.

The Sharks will look to continue their drive towards a top of the table finish in Super Rugby 2014 when they host the Stormers on Saturday in Kings Park Stadium Durban. The Sharks have just completed a highly successful tour to Australasia, where they won three out of the four games they played. They now have a record of played 13 games, with 10 wins and just three defeats, only one of which has come at home, while they have won their other six fixtures.

While the Sharks have played a game more than the chasing pack, it will be a huge shock, if they do not record another victory on Saturday. The Stormers have had a poor season, with just five wins from the 13 games that they have played, and all of those successes have been at home, as all seven fixtures away from home, has seen them defeated.

The Natal Sharks may be grateful that the fixtures have favored them with a home game against the Stormers after an exhausting tour, when they might have been faced with a much sterner test on their return to the Republic. The Stormers are in 11th position on the table, and realistically can only hope to finish as high as 10th come the end of the season.
