Saturday 23rd July 17:00 GMT

The last of the 2016 Super Rugby quarter-finals, takes place on Saturday Evening at Newlands in Cape Town, when the Stormers entertain the Chiefs. The Stormers take their place in the last eight courtesy of winning Africa Conference 1, with a record of 10 wins and a draw, to set alongside four defeats. However, it is difficult to gauge just how strong the Stormers challenge for the title is, given that they haven't faced any opposition from New Zealand, which has been by far and away the strongest Conference. throughout the whole of 2016.

After 4 Rounds of Super Rugby 2015, the Stormers are one of only two sides with 100% winning records. However, they head the overall table, by virtue of having played a game more than the other unbeaten side, the Hurricanes. On Saturday, the Stormers will look to extend their winning start to five matches, when they host the Chiefs from New Zealand at Newlands Stadium. In winning four games, the Stormers have at times produced some electrifying rugby, although by the same token they have also had periods where they have stuttered their way to success. Although there are four wins in the W column, there is a big fat zero in the bonus point column for the Stormers, as they have failed to score four tries in any of their fixtures, including the win against the Blues, who played for much of the contest with just 14 men.

Apart from the Crusaders, New Zealand sides have a poor record at Newlands over the past five seasons. Since the Chiefs won at the stadium back in 2009, only the Crusaders have taken the points back to New Zealand. The Chiefs lost for the first time this season last weekend, when they slipped up against the Highlanders in Hamilton, going down 17-20. However, they still sit in third position, just two points behind Saturday's opponents.
