The rock bottom Stormers play host in Newlands Stadium Cape Town to the Western Force from Australia this weekend.

The Perth based Australians have held the upper hand over the Stormers in recent clashes, with four wins out of the last five games they have contested.

The Stormers have had the most abysmal of seasons. They have played 11 matches and managed to win just three of them to date in Super Rugby 2014, and of those wins, two were by just a single point, while the third was an 18-3 victory against the struggling Lions.

The Western Force in contrast are having an excellent year, currently occupying fifth place on the overall table, with seven wins, which have come in their last eight matches, and just three losses.

The Force will hope to make it three wins in consecutive weeks against South African opposition, having beaten the Bulls and the Cheetahs in the past fortnight.

In an attempt find a winning formula, the Stormers have made five changes to this weekend’s side, from that which went down by 12-28 to the Bulls in Pretoria last week. Peter Grant moves from Inside Centre to the pivotal number 10, while Damian de Allende moves from the Right Wing to take his place in the mid-field.

Lock Michael Rhodes returns from injury along with Winger Kobus van Wyk, with hooker Deon Fourie replacing the injured Scarra Ntubeni.
