The last match of Round 6 in the 2015 Super Rugby season takes place in Sydney on Sunday, when the reigning Champions, the Waratahs, host their Australian rivals from Canberra, the Brumbies. The Waratahs have made an inconsistent start to the defence of their title, winning and losing two games so far. Suffering a shock  home defeat on the opening weekend to the Force, and slipping 19-26 to the Highlanders in New Zealand last weekend. Their two wins have come against the struggling Australian franchises, the Reds and the Rebels.

Sunday's visitors to Sydney currently top the overall standings, with four wins and a single loss in the opening five rounds of competition. However, their four wins have been against struggling Australian teams, the Reds twice, the Force and the Rebels. The most difficult fixture that they have faced so far, was a trip to New Plymouth to face the Chiefs, where a late penalty led to their only defeat thus far, by the narrow margin of 17-19.

The Waratahs beat the Brumbies twice in Sydney last season, including a semi-final clash on their way to the title. The Brumbies last win on Waratahs soil was in 2012, one of only two successes from 14 matches between the sides in Sydney.

On Saturday Sydney Football Stadium Sydney will see the first all Australian play-off fixture since the same sides as this weekends protagonists the Waratahs and the Brumbies faced each other in 2002. The two sides have faced each other twice already this season, during the regular season, and the record stands at one victory each. The winner this weekend will not only have Aussie bragging rights until the 2015 campaign begins, but will go into next week's Super Rugby Grand Final.

For the first time since the International break, the Brumbies have been able to name an unchanged side, with the whole squad coming through last weekend's nerve racking win against the Chiefs with a clean bill of health. Waratahs coach, Michael Cheika, has made two changes to his line up. Israel Folau and Jacques Potgieter are both named in the starting XV. Folau was rested for the last regular season fixture, but is now fully recovered from a corked thigh.

The other change sees crowd favorite Potgieter starting in the engine room, with Will Skelton offering the second row back up from the bench. If the Waratahs win, they will host the final against the Crusaders or the Sharks, while the Brumbies would have to travel yet again, should they triumph in Sydney.

The Waratahs and the Brumbies meet in a massive Stadium Australia in Sydney on Saturday as Super Rugby returns after the three week International break. With both sides riding high in the table, a win for either side will effectively be worth double points, as the winners will not only add points to their own total, but will also be preventing their opponents from scoring any.

The Waratahs sit in second place on the overall table, just three points ahead of their visitors on the weekend, but with a game in hand. A win for the Sydney based outfit will end the Brumbies chances of winning the Australian Conference, and would provide a major blow to their hopes of a wild card place.

Brumbies have had to overcome injury problems throughout the season, and they have now suffered yet another blow with their star fly half, Matt Toomua, rules out of Saturday's game with a groin injury sustained playing for the Wallabies in the third Test against France. Toomua joins the already sidelined Stephen Moore, Joe Tomane, Sam Carter, Pat McCabe and David Pocock, each of them a Wallaby International. With a bye next week, the Brumbies will at least have the chance to get some of their star players fit in time for the last game of the season against the Force.
