Saturday 23rd May 09:40 GMT

There is a repeat of last seasons Grand Final on Saturday, when the Waratahs who took the 2014 title, host the seven times Champions, the Crusaders from across the Tasman Sea. Coming into Saturday's clash in Sydney, the Waratahs find themselves two points adrift of the Brumbies who head the Australian Conference. The Champions do however, have a game in hand. With the Brumbies having a bye this weekend, it is a chance for Tahs to leap to the top of their national Conference.

The Australian side seem to be coming into form just at the right time, as the season reaches its climax. Last weekend's win against the touring Sharks by 33-18, was their fourth win in the last five Super Rugby fixtures. Their overall record shows eight wins to set alongside four defeats.

The Crusaders themselves had a bye last week, and remain fourth in the New Zealand Conference, eight points adrift of the Chiefs and Hurricanes, and an astonishing 21 points behind the Hurricanes. It looks like the Crusaders, who have managed only a 50% winning record in 2015, are going to miss out on the play-offs this time round. Before last season's final, the Crusaders had won 11 straight fixtures against the Waratahs, stretching back to 2003, and overall in Sydney they have won five times to the Tahs four successes.

Super Rugby 2014 reaches its climax on Saturday when the Waratahs host the Crusaders from across the Tasman in the Grand Final. The Waratahs who will be hosting their first ever Super Rugby Final, have made the controversial decision to switch the fixture from their normal home venue, the Sydney Football Stadium (SFS), where they remain unbeaten this season, to the bigger ANZ Stadium at Olympic Park.

The SFS has a capacity of 44,000, while the ANZ can hold up to 83,500 spectators, and the home side will be hoping to cash in on the interest in the fixture by breaking the tournament record, which is currently 55,000. The teams finished first and second on the regular season table, but this will be the first time that they have faced each other in 2014, having avoided each other in the regular season draw. Their two previous Final clashes have both been in Christchurch, and ended in victory for the Crusaders, in 2005 and 2008.

Michael Cheika the Waratahs coach has retained the team that defeated the Brumbies 26-8 in last week's semi-final. As has his opposite number, Todd Blackadder who has also retained the team that beat the Sharks last weekend in Christchurch, as the Crusaders search for their eighth title, while the Waratahs seek to break their duck.
