Ireland and Wales continue their build up to the World Cup, which start in less than a months time, with a return warm up fixture against each other, at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday. When the two teams met in Cardiff just a couple of weeks ago, Ireland ran out easy winners, in a fixture where both coaches named what were very much second XV's. It was an occasion that left little doubt as to the lack of depth within the Welsh squad, especially compared to their opponents.

The Welsh coach, Warren Gatland, is likely to field a starting XV that will be very close to that which will take the field when the World Cup starts. Faced with a World Cup qualifying Pool that includes England, Australia and the dangerous Fijians, Gatland needs a confidence building performance from his leading players, to take forward into the tournament.

Ireland victories in warm up games against Wales and Scotland, has lifted them to second in the world rankings, their highest ever position. They have probably been the sharpest of the 6-nations teams during the warm up matches that have been played to date, and after Saturday's match they face a trip to Twickenham to face England, in what could be a dress rehearsal for a World Cup semi-final.
