The Saracens will start the new season of the Aviva Premiership with Tthree key players signing up for a contract for the future. The signs include Steve Borthwick, Kelly Brown and Neil de Kock, all sporting brand new deals with last year Premiership champions. No word yet on how long the contracts were signed for. Last year was the first time that the Saracens had been able to take home a Premiership Championship. Borthwick is one player that will come in handy, with both skill and experience, having earned 57 caps for England.
Borthwick said that the Saracens were a special club in a statement, calling them a great group of people who work really hard to keep building their club. As for Kelly Brown, he was part of Scotland previously and the twenty nine year old was one of the reasons that Scotland was able to take the top podium last year. He said that he was looking forward to playing with the Saracens and that the win last year was just the beginning, with everyone in the club doing everything they can to make sure they repeat that performance and come out on top in the Aviva Premiership again.
Neil De Kock was a starter in last year's Premiership final, and is a former Springbok. He says that he is looking forward to defending the title, which is challenging. He also said that with this being his sixth season at the club, he has never been happier. He also said that everyone in the club knows that they will have to work twice as hard to take home the title again. The Saracens have also signed nineteen year old Ben Spencer. He said that he was determined to play his part to win the Aviva Premiership title a second time.
